On April 22, 1992 President of the Republic of Bulgaria Zhelev signed the oath in the name of Earth. Over 30,000 Bulgarian children are signed under the Declaration of authority for life on Earth. The declaration was presented to the UN Conference on Environment and Development held in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992 Every year thereafter, Bulgaria participated in the celebration of Earth Day and contributes to a cleaner and healthier environment for storing life on the planet.
