Draisaitl's 4 goals not enough as Oilers lose to Golden Knights 6-4

The Edmonton Oilers and the Vegas Golden Knights faced off in a high-scoring game on May 3, 2023, at the T-Mobile Arena. The Oilers' star forward Leon Draisaitl scored four goals, but it was not enough to overcome the balanced attack of the Golden Knights, who won 6-4.

The game started with a flurry of goals in the first period, as the Golden Knights scored three times in the span of four minutes. Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty and Chandler Stephenson each found the back of the net for Vegas, while Draisaitl scored twice for Edmonton to make it 3-2 after 20 minutes.

The second period was scoreless, as both goaltenders made some key saves. Mike Smith stopped 12 shots for the Oilers, while Robin Lehner made 10 saves for the Golden Knights.

The third period was another offensive showcase, as Draisaitl completed his hat trick and added his fourth goal of the game to tie it at 4-4 with 10 minutes left. However, the Golden Knights responded with two quick goals from Alex Tuch and William Karlsson to seal the victory.

The Golden Knights improved their record to 48-24-10 and clinched the second seed in the Pacific Division. The Oilers fell to 44-28-10 and remained in third place in the division.

The two teams will meet again on May 6, 2023, at the Rogers Place in Edmonton for their final regular season game.
